Police have launched an investigation after an elderly man failed to return to the local area after taking a flight to Paris.
Yahya Ghassemazadeh, also known as John Cowry, boarded a flight to the French capital from Aberdeen on Friday October 12.
The 74-year-old, from Montrose, was due to return some time ago and is now overdue.
Police believe Mr Ghassemazadeh travelled on from Paris after arriving there initially.
He is about 6ft tall of medium build with short grey and white hair.
Mr Ghassemazadeh is usually well-dressed, however it is not known what he was wearing when he left the country.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “While we would normally ask for details of sightings of missing persons, and that is still the case, on this occasion we would like to hear from anyone who may have been contacted by him in any manner since October 12.
“We would also like to speak with anyone who may have spoken with him on his flight or at the airport, or anyone with whom he discussed his travel plans.
“If you have any information that could help us trace him, please call 101 or speak with any police officer. Our reference is incident 2416 of November 21.”
