Two nurses from NHS Tayside’s Family Nurse Partnership have celebrated their retirement after a combined 65 years of service.

Cathy Macdonald said a warm farewell to present and former colleagues after almost 40 years of nursing in Tayside.

Cathy’s career saw her working in various roles in nursing and midwifery in Dundee and Perth and Kinross before finishing her NHS service with the Family Nurse Partnership.

Pat Dickson has also hung up her nurse’s uniform after more than 25 years service with NHS Tayside.

Pat was a valued member of the community nursing team, working as a nurse, midwife and health visitor before taking on her final role as a family nurse.

The nurse partnership is a specialist programme for young mums which involves a family nurse visiting first-time mothers under the age of 24 every one or two weeks during pregnancy and also during the first two years of their baby’s life.

Since starting, more than 1,000 women have participated.
