A Tayside woman who shed a whopping six stone in a matter of months is now aiming to help others in their battle with the bulge.
Fiona Wallace, from Tayport, tipped the scales at 20 stone at this time last year.
The 33-year-old admitted she would have struggled to get to the age of 40 if she had continued with her lifestyle and gained even more weight.
The mother-of-one had been living on a diet of sugary snacks and huge portion sizes.
Fiona said: “Even prior to being pregnant I was 17 stone, I had a high BMI.
“When I fell pregnant the portion sizes got bigger.
“Surprisingly it wasn’t a case of I was eating loads of takeaways, it was just the amount of food I was having at one time.”
Fiona decided to make a change after she became breathless carrying her son up the stairs.
She added: “At my biggest I was probably 20 and a half stone.
“It got to the point I was tired carrying my child up the stairs, I had no motivation, no self esteem.
“I was on maternity leave, but even after giving birth I didn’t want to go and socialise because of the weight I’d put on.”
Fiona now works with Cambridge Weight Plan as she looks to help others in reaching their goals.
She added: “I remember being at my lowest and seeing a friend of mine have some amazing results with weight loss.
“It really inspired me. I didn’t bring a child into the world not to see him grow up. But the way I was going I wouldn’t have seen my 40th birthday.
“I now go jogging and plan to take part in the Race For Life this year. I have the confidence to take my son to the Olympia swimming baths and go in the water with him.
“I’m currently 13 stone 8 lbs and I plan to lose another two stone to reach my target weight.
“To anyone who is in the same boat I was in I would urge them to the look at the bigger picture.”
