Dundee’s Ward Road gym on December 22 is the venue for the Scotland qualifier for the World Ping Pong Championships.
Ping pong is similar to table tennis but is played with a sand based bat instead of a sponge one. This can lead to longer rallies.
Among the entrants are Perth’s Gavin Rumgay and Dundee’s Ian Johnstone.
“There are 64 entrants and only two qualify so, hopefully, that will be Ian and I,” said Gavin, who is ranked No 7 in the world.
The World Championships are from January 27-29 at Alexandra Palace, London.
