Dundee United have announced changes to the make up of the board at Tannadice.

David Dorward has stepped up from being an associate director to take on full board member status.

And perhaps more significantly successful local businessman Jim Fyffe has also become a full director of the Tangerines.

Heading in the other direction is David McGrory, who has resigned to concentrate on other business interests.

Fyffe is a life-long United fans who already has a financial interest in the club via his sponsorship through one of his businesses JF Kegs.

Former Dundee City Council chief executive Dorward has also been a significant figure at Tannadice after becoming an associate director back in June 2016.

“The club has been looking for fresh talent and expertise at boardroom level and I am delighted that both David and Jimmy will join the board here at Tannadice,” said chairman Stephen Thompson announcing the changes.

“Both are strong-minded, business orientated, passionate United fans. They will add a lot of experience and knowledge to the board. David has been an associate director and has already shown his value and Jimmy has impressed me in his business dealings and discussions.

“David McGrory has served with distinction in his three years at the club. He came on board at a time of much structural change and his experience proved invaluable. I and the rest of the board want to thank David for his efforts on behalf of the club.”
