A Dundee food charity has made an appeal for volunteers to help get people through Christmas.
FareShare Tayside and Fife needs help to collect donations for charities as part of the Tesco Food Collection, which runs from next Thursday until next Saturday.
Based in Dundee, FareShare Tayside and Fife redistributes good surplus food to more than 220 charities, including holiday hunger schemes, homeless hostels, refuges, family centres and hospices.
FareShare manager Chris Doig said: “Taking part in the Tesco Food Collection is a quick and easy way to make a big impact, and it can be a lot of fun too.
“We’re calling on people across Tayside and Fife to give three hours to help us fight hunger.
“It is just a morning or afternoon, but in that short time you can collect enough donations to make up 600 meals for people who really need your help.”
