Dunsinane Industrial Estate is set to expand after a plan to create a builders’ merchant was approved by the council.
S&A Kilcoyne Ltd had applied to create the yard on Dunsinane Avenue, next to the Kingsway Farm restaurant and the Kings Cross Trade Park, last November.
The firm’s planning agents, Convery Prenty Architects, said the plans would bring the land back into use for the first time in over a decade.
CPA concluded that the plans would provide “a desirable use to the local area and indeed the wider area of Dundee”.
Planning officers agreed, and green-lit the plan on the grounds that it will create jobs – but attached a number of conditions that must be met.
Dundee City Council said: “In summary, the application has been granted because the proposed use . . . would be an appropriate employment use within the Dunsinane economic development area.”
