Snooker fans in Dundee have the chance to take on legend Jimmy White when he visits the city next week.
‘The Whirlwind’ will make an appearance at the Tivoli Snooker Club on Monday, from 7.30pm.
Punters will be drawn from a raffle at the ticketed event to play a frame against the six-time World Championship finalist.
White will play nine frames in total on the night and tickets are selling fast.
Jim Carroll, owner of the Bonnybank Road snooker club, said: “All money made on the night will go towards the Maggie’s Centre.
“Our family has had personal experience of cancer and they were treated very well by the staff there.”
Jim hopes that White’s appearance in the city will boost snooker’s profile.
He said: “Snooker is in decline, hopefully Jimmy’s appearance will give the game in Dundee a shot in the arm.
“The game was tarred with the image of misspent youth, but hopefully we can encourage kids away from the TV screens and games consoles.”
There are a limited number of tickets left for the evening. Briefs can be bought from the Tivoli snooker club in person for £20.
