New Dundee manager Jim McIntyre is still unsure whether he can appoint his preferred assistant, Billy Dodds.
A number of fans have complained about the prospect of Dodds’ return after the former Dundee striker voted against a creditors’ deal that rescued the club from administration in 2011, months after being dismissed as assistant boss.
McIntyre said: “Whether it happens or not, I don’t know. I can’t give you an answer on that. There’s not been a decision taken on it.
“I’ve said all I have had to say on it. Would I want Billy Dodds working beside me? Absolutely.
“Why? Because he is the best man for the job, we work well together, we have a four-year history of success at Queen of the South and Ross County.
“I’m also aware that it’s a tricky subject. But, like everything, there’s two sides to the story.”
