A computing expert has admitted possessing thousands of indecent images of children.
Ian Stevenson, of Main Street, possessed the sick images between April 2005 and March 2012.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that after a raid on his then-home in St Kilda Terrace last May, police found more than 20,000 images.
The 58-year-old, who has degrees in computing and mathematics, pleaded guilty on indictment to taking or permitted to take indecent images of children between April 8 2005 and March 9 2012.
He also possessed indecent images between January 10 2011 and March 19 2012.
Sentence was deferred by Sheriff Alastair Carmichael to allow for criminal and social work reports to be carried out.
He will return for sentencing on February 26.
Stevenson’s bail was continued and he was placed on the sex offenders register.
