Multi-award winning indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs are coming to Tayside this summer.
The band, known for top-ten hits such as I Predict A Riot, Oh My God and Ruby, are the third headline act to be announced as part of Live at the Links in Montrose in August.
They will play at the town’s East Links on Friday August 16, ahead of pop star Jess Glynne on August 23 and ska band Madness on August 24.
Frontman Ricky Wilson said: “We’re really excited to be playing in Montrose this August as we’ve heard great things about the East Links.
“We’ll put on an outstanding show and will pick out some of our best-known smash hits to perform, so come and join us, and let’s make it an unforgettable night.”
Ricky – recently seen on TV as a judge on reality show The Voice –is joined in the band by guitarist Andrew ‘Whitey’ White, Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines on keyboards, bassist Simon Rix and drummer Vijay Mistry.
The Live at the Links shows have been organised by Scottish promoters LCC Live.
Claire Kidger, director of the company, said: “We’re delighted to confirm Kaiser Chiefs to the line-up for Live at the Links in Montrose.
“They always put so much energy into producing a fantastic show, and we can’t wait to see them perform their latest and greatest hits.
“Live at the Links is shaping up to be an unmissable summer event with three of the UK’s most popular artists performing. We’d love you to come and join us.”
The Montrose shows are among several outdoor concerts playing host to big names in Tayside this summer.
Alongside LCC Live’s shows on the East Links, English firm the Liz Hobbs Group is bringing RnB star Craig David and Welsh crooner Sir Tom Jones to Dundee on June 7 and July 27 respectively.
LHG says sales for its Slessor gigs have been “very positive” so far – and has also teased a third summertime show for Slessor Gardens, yet to be announced.
