A Dundee law firm worker used her 50th birthday to help others — by asking colleagues, friends and family to donate to local foodbanks.
Carrie McIntyre works as a records supervisor for Thorntons Solicitors and celebrated her birthday last week.
However, instead of the usual pile of presents such a milestone would normally attract she asked for donations to be made to people in need.
A representative from Dundee Foodbank collected 38 boxes of donations.
Carrie says helping an important cause was more important than her being given gifts.
She said: “At my age I have everything I need so I felt it was a good opportunity to help others at this time of year.”
