HURRY: ‘Out of towners’ from Maggie’s Penguin Parade on display in Dundee for a week only

They have spent all summer posted around Angus, Fife and Perth, drawing crowds of people eager to complete the Maggie’s Penguin Parade sticker book.

But now 12 “out of towners” have become a main attraction in Dundee city centre as a last hurrah before being auctioned off.

Picture shows Latvian biking couple Anna Melihova and Vlad Ignatjevs checking out the Hell’s Penguin outside The McManus.

A dozen brightly coloured penguin statues collected from Perth, Brechin, Kirriemuir, St Andrews and Carnoustie have gone on display outside The McManus for one week only.

Penguin Parade spokeswoman Annie Long said: “It’s just a chance for people who may not have had a chance to get out of the city to see the penguins that were in Brechin, St Andrews, Perth and other places.”

The penguins will be outside the museum until Sunday, before joining the rest of the penguins in Slessor Gardens for one last goodbye the following weekend.

All 81 full-size penguins plus 100 baby penguins will go on display together on Saturday and Sunday September 22 and 23.

Tickets from Dundee Box Office cost £10 for a family of four, £4 for adults and £2 for children.
