New Year’s Day marks the start of new beginnings for many, and parents across Tayside and Fife welcomed new additions to the family.
The first baby of 2019 was born to Rachel Winton and her partner Dale Wishart, whose daughter arrived at Perth Royal Infirmary just 12 minutes after the bells, weighing 8lb 1oz.
Ninewells Hospital welcomed its first foot five minutes later. Baby Hunter arrived 11 days early to parents Amanda McGilligan and Andy Rawk, from Perth, weighing in at 7lb 8oz.
Less than two hours later, Ocean Pratt-Livingston arrived a day early, weighing 7lb 9oz.
She is the first child of mums Caitlin Pratt, 21 and Kellie Livingston, 31.
Baby Holly Smith arrived at the Arbroath community maternity at 1.54am to parents Emily and Jamie Smith, from Kirriemuir, weighing 10lb 11oz.
Welcoming their first child at 4.15am were Danielle MacLean, 23, and Sean Robertson, 25, pictured, from Dundee.
Hope was born at Ninewells, weighing 6lb 13oz.
