A man was left injured after being attacked by a drunk who he went to help.
Police are on the hunt for the culprit who left the 63-year-old Good Samaritan with facial injuries after the incident on Saturday December 23.
The victim’s injuries were not said to be serious but he was left badly shaken.
Officers now want to speak to a man in his early twenties in connection with the assault, which happened around 1.30am, at the junction of Antiquary Gardens and West Way in Arbroath.
A spokesman for the force said: “We would like to trace a man described as white, about 5ft 8in and medium build, with mousy brown hair and beard, wearing a black zip-up jacket.
