Ali Coote has today left Dundee United to join Brentford.
The highly-rated 19-year-old has left Tannadice for the English Championship side for an undisclosed fee, United have confirmed.
Coote will go straight into the London side’s B team after signing a three-year deal.
Robert Rowan, Brentford FC Head of Football Operations, said: “Ali is a player we’ve tracked for quite some time up in Scotland, he’s a player I’ve known from previous roles.
“I think it’s important that Ali makes the most of his time at the training ground and uses the resources provided to him by the technical staff to accelerate his development.
“I had a good chat with Ali and his dad on Tuesday and I think everyone agrees that his first objective is to break into the Starting XI with Brentford B and then get some recognition at international level. Ali will report tomorrow for the first day of pre-season training where he and his team mates will undergo some intense conditioning in preparation for an exciting year ahead.”
Coote, who was born in Bedford and came through the youth ranks at United, made 16 appearances last season.
