Shocking footage of an 11-year-old girl being attacked at a playpark in Dundee has emerged online.
The short video shows a girl violently attacking another youngster.
A girl in a pink jacket appears to attack the girl in a white jacket from behind in an unprovoked incident at around 6pm last Monday.
The mother of the victim said her daughter, who is at primary school, was attacked by a secondary school pupil.
She said she felt the attack was “premeditated” as the 14-second-clip was recorded on another child’s phone.
The mum said she was “angered” to see the footage via a friend’s daughter’s mobile.
During the attack at Balgarthno Road, the victim can be seen on the ground as the girl rains down a series of punches on her head.
A number of other children can be heard egging on the girl in pink and shouting “get her”.
The mother said she could only bring herself to watch the footage once before saying her daughter was “intimidated” by the older kids in the background.
She said: “My daughter was walking through the park to visit a friend when this nasty girl attacked her while her friend filmed it.
“This girl is in high school. I don’t know why she did this and I have tried to contact her mother.
“I was shaking with anger from head to toe and was furious.
“I couldn’t believe this had happened to my girl. She didn’t even tell me.
“My daughter is only 11 years old.
“She did say she didn’t know if she should fight back as she’s been told that’s not the correct way.
“I think she felt intimidated as it was older kids that all had her attacker’s back.
“I just hope we can try to resolve this matter in a civil way.”
