Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martel Maxwell has revealed details of a run-in with Spice Girl Mel B.
The nineties pop group will return in 2019 – minus Victoria Beckham – with a run of shows, including one at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Saturday, June 8.
Dundonian Martel, in her weekly column for the Tele, recalled her dealings with Mel B – aka Scary Spice – when she was a journalist.
Martel, who now fronts BBC show Homes Under The Hammer, wrote: “Victoria Beckham – or Posh – has infuriated fellow Spicers but particularly Mel B (Scary) by steadfastly saying no to the return of Girl Power.
“Scary even stepped out to a Halloween party dressed as Victoria armed with a cleaver, while a male pal wore a David Beckham mask.
“Mind you, it’s not hard to be on the receiving end of Mel B’s wrath.
“As a showbiz reporter in London, she’s the only star to have sued me, though she had to stop proceedings and a claim for damages because my story was true.
“There are two types of people: those who like Mel B and those who have met her.”
Martell also criticised Mark Lamarr, former host of Never Mind The Buzzcocks in the 1990s, over a cancer slur.
However, Martel added that she has met “plenty of lovely celebs, from Sean Connery to Tom Cruise”.
She continued: “The things we teach our kids – that manners cost nothing and it’s nice to be nice – shouldn’t change because you’re rich or famous.”
