A private developer is seeking permission from Dundee City Council to demolish a former vehicle repair centre to pave the way for “high-quality” housing.
Sidlaw Building & Joinery Services, from Tealing, is hoping to build two apartments at 21 Gray Street in Lochee.
A spokesman for architect Peter Inglis, who is agent for the developer, said: “This application seeks permission to provide high-quality housing in the Lochee area of the city.
“At present the site is occupied by a disused vehicle repair workshop which has fallen into a ruinous state.
“The scale and character of the dwellings will complement and enhance the character of the area.
“And they will also sit comfortably alongside existing neighbourhood dwellings.”
He said the site had held planning consent for a single, detached, two-storey house since 2008.
