A local butcher has put some meat on the bones of the classic Lionel Richie song ‘Hello’.
The music icon will visit Tayside this weekend to perform in front of thousands at McDiarmid Park in Perth.
Ahead of his arrival D.G. Lindsay & Son on the Fair City’s North Methven Street have raised a few smiles with a “welcome poster” for the superstar.
Folk have had to double-take after seeing a life-sized print of the American singer with the tagline: “Hello… it is MEAT your [sic] looking for?”
The idea was the brainchild of Lionel Richie fan Louise Lindsay, wife of shop owner Beaton.
He told the Tele the image has caused quite the stir and has gone viral on social media.
“The reaction has went through the roof. It has been hilarious,” Beaton said.
“Louise loves Lionel and she kept saying ‘Hello, is it meat you’re looking for’. We’re delighted with it.
“It’s great working behind the counter and seeing people’s faces laughing.”
Beaton added that aim poster was to raise a smile and it appears to have done just that.
He said: “People walk past and have a double-take and you can see them smiling.
“That’s what it’s all about – creating a smile, having a laugh.
“How often does a superstar like Lionel Richie come to Perth?
“That’s his welcome poster.”
