Abby Lang, school captain at Harris Academy in Dundee, is pictured receiving the results of her heart screening from Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) research fellow Dr Stathis Papatheodorou.
The Peter McAvoy Memorial Fund, set up in memory of the 22-year-old former Craigie High pupil who suffered a fatal heart attack while on a football scholarship in New York, funded the tests.
The CRY team conducted about 40 screenings at Harris Academy.
Abby said: “I am delighted to have received the news that my electrocardiogram was normal.
“However, every week in the UK, at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. The tests, targeted at those aged from 14-35, are crucial to saving young lives.”
