Half-a-million meals supplied to needy by Dundee charity

A Dundee-based charity redistributed enough food last year to create more than half-a-million meals.

FareShare Tayside and Fife, operated by Transform Community Development, receives good-quality, in-date surplus food from manufacturers, producers and suppliers and redistributes it to more than 92 local frontline charities and community groups, including homeless shelters, women’s refuges and breakfast clubs.

Chris Doig at FareShare Tayside and Fife said: “It’s an incredible achievement and one that wouldn’t be possible without the support of our incredible volunteers and, of course, our suppliers.”
