GAME OFF: Waterlogged pitch postpones Inverness v Dundee United

Dundee United’s bid to close the gap at the top of the Championship will be on hold for another week.

Today’s game with Inverness has been called off following an early-morning pitch inspection.

Officials decided to review their options at 8am and concluded the surface was unplayable.

The Inverness area has been placed under a Met Office weather warning for heavy rain, with some snow forecast around midday.

The playing surface was cut up during the week for the Scottish Cup replay with Dundee and today’s rain has compounded matters.

A rescheduled date for today’s game will be announced in due course.
