The future of Broughty Ferry Post Office has been secured with a more modern facility located within the existing premises.
The post office at 128 Gray Street, which was closed in January, will reopen on Monday July 9.
The modernised store will provide four serving positions on a modern-screened counter, two open-plan positions and a serving point at the retail section.
Opening hours will be increasing by 13 hours a week.
Opening times will be 9am-5:30pm Monday to Saturday.
Residents will be able to access a wide range of services including international parcels, special delivery, local collect and home shopping returns.
They will also be able to make cash withdrawals from a Post Office card account, pay bills, top up their mobile phones and purchase holiday money and more.
Neil Cooney, a member of Broughty Ferry Community Council, said: “We are aware of a lot of closures for regional and local services, so to see the post office continuing in Broughty Ferry is excellent news.
“This is down to the good work of the elected members for the area.
“It’s good that it secures the unit.
“I think that there is a concern when a business closes that you could be left with a vacant premises in the Ferry, and this secures that important plot in our location.”
