The funeral of a Fife man who fell off a Christmas tree is to be held today.
James Ogilvie, who was in his 50s, was rushed to hospital after scaling the 20ft fir outside the Town House in Kirkcaldy in the early hours of December 14.
The Cupar resident plunged to the ground after a branch snapped.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance but died a short time later.
The tragedy happened just hours after Mr Ogilvie had shared his excitement at becoming a grandfather again.
Devastated friends and family then issued a plea for help to pay for his funeral in a bid to give him a proper send-off, and a fundraising page raised more than £1,400.
Mr Ogilvie’s funeral will be held at Kirkcaldy Crematorium at 11.45am, with mourners being asked to wear bright colours.
