Four people ‘threatened man at gunpoint’ at Dundee shops

Four people allegedly threatened a man at gunpoint at a Dundee shopping complex.

The foursome — three men and a woman — appeared from custody separately at Dundee Sheriff Court, where they appeared in private before Sheriff Alastair Carmichael on petition.

They have been accused of assaulting the man at Strathmartine shopping complex while holding a gun.

Christopher McIntosh, 35, Claire McIntosh, 32, and Darren Thomson, 27, — all of Prosen Road in Kirriemuir — and Rory Starkey, 22, of Restenneth Drive in Forfar, are alleged to have threatened Reace Stewart on January 24.

They allegedly committed the offence at the complex on Strathmartine Road in Dundee.

Court papers say they allegedly assaulted him, seized him by the body and prevented him from leaving their company.

They then allegedly kicked him on the body, which caused him to fall to the ground.

The charges also allege that they then presented a firearm, or imitation firearm, to his head and uttered threats of violence.

Neither of the four accused made any plea during their brief appearances before the sheriff.

All four were remanded in custody while the case was continued for further examination and they are expected to appear again from custody this week.
