The GP Unit at a local hospital is closed to new admissions due to a flu outbreak.
The measure has been put in place at Blairgowrie Community Hospital where, according to NHS Tayside, a “small number of patients” have influenza A.
A statement added: “Patients in the ward are being monitored and appropriate infection control and prevention measures are in place.
“To help reduce the spread of infection, people are asked to avoid visiting if possible and visitors who have coughs and colds which could be flu are asked not to visit friends and relatives until they are better.
“NHS Tayside apologises for any inconvenience.”
The Tele revealed last week a heat map showing that Dundee and Tayside is one of the UK’s worst-hit flu areas.
