Emergency crews were called to the city centre this afternoon after a pub was evacuated.
More 50 customers from The Counting House spilled onto the street shortly before 3.30pm this afternoon.
Customers braved the January temperatures and continued to enjoy their pints alfresco whilst staff closed the doors of the premises.
One customer said they were waiting on food when the fire alarm went off before staff asked them to exit the building.
An eyewitness said he thought customers were queuing to get into the pub when he walked past.
He said: “I noticed a few hardy folk were still sipping on their pints outside.
“It looked like folk were queueing to get in as the doors were closed, It didn’t appear to bother too many people.”
“A fire engine had arrived on scene shorty after 3.30 but customers were already getting back inside the premises.”
Emergency crews had left the scene at around 3.45pm.
