Fire crews and ambulance called to blaze in local street

Fire crews battled a blaze in a Tayside street this morning.

Three fire crews were called out to a property on Friar Street, Perth at 7:05am.

The crews arrived within five minutes of the initial call and although one crew are still in attendance the blaze is said to have been extinguished by 7.40am.

An ambulance was called to the scene however it is unknown at this stage if anyone was in the property at the time or if anyone was treated for injuries.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “There is currently no indication of the cause of the fire.”
