A fire crew used sand to smother a petrol can fire started in woodland in suburban Dundee.
Emergency services received a call at 8.12pm on Thursday night to attend to a fire at Lothian Crescent, Whitfield.
A single appliance was sent from the Kingsway East fire station to attend to the blaze, gaining access to the wooded area from Tranent Grove eight minutes later.
Fire officers removed a petrol can from the fire – thought to be fuelling the blaze.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “Sand was used to extinguish a fire in the open woodland. One petrol can was removed from the fire.
“We arrived at 8.20pm and were ready for another call by 8.30pm.”
The wooded area has been blighted by a number of fires in recent months.
