Work on a £4 million housing development in Dundee will be completed by the end of October next year after council planners approved the final part of the project.
Hillcrest Housing Association is building 36 flats and four semi-detached homes on vacant land in Eliza Street.
The development is now scheduled to be completed in less than 12 months’ time, finally bringing to an end a long-running planning saga that began more than a decade ago.
Plans to develop the Stobswell site were originally submitted to the council in 2005, but had to be resubmitted following the economic downturn.
Although the flats were approved by councillors last year, Hillcrest was granted final approval for the four semi-detached properties only this week after the plans for the homes were resubmitted to the council in August.
Twelve years after the plans were first put forward, Hillcrest has been given the green light to finish the project.
