Almost 950 boxes of cereal have been donated to Dundee Foodbank.
The organisation set a target of 700 boxes to help the city’s poorest during the school holidays as part of the Fun and Food Programme.
But foodbank manager Ken Linton said the response had been overwhelming, with the target being smashed by about 250 boxes.
He said one person donated 433 boxes alone, adding: “ I’m amazed that she managed to donate them by herself — everyone has been fantastic with their support.”
Donations also came from Fintry Primary School, Ninewells Nursery, Ninewells Pharmacy, BT, Alliance Trust and Royal Mail.
