Former Dundee United star Johnny Russell’s career in the UK appears to be over as he looks set to move to the MLS.
The 27-year-old striker, who has made over 200 appearances for Derby County, is out of contract in the summer and has turned down the offer of a new one in order to move to America.
Boss Gary Rowett told a press conference previewing Derby’s trip to Millwall: “I think his wish is to pursue a chance to play in the MLS.
“He’s turned down those contract offers. We’ll have to look at that situation.”
Russell joined the Rams as part of a £750k deal in 2013.
