Former Dundee United defender Ryan McGowan is set for a return to British football with Bradford City.
The Bantams have agreed a deal with United Arab Emirates club Al-Sharjah for the 28-year-old, who is expected to undergo a medical at Valley Parade today.
Although several details are still to be finalised, a deal could be confirmed before Bradford’s clash with AFC Wimbledon tomorrow, subject to international clearance.
McGowan played more than 40 games for the Tangerines in a year-long spell at Tannadice after joining up from Chinese Superleague outfit Shandong Luneng Taishan. In a surprise move he then headed back to China and Henan Jianye in January 2016.
From there the Australian international switched to Al-Sharjah in August of last year.
