Emergency services rushed to the Tay Road Bridge last night after a young woman was spotted on the outside ledge, having climbed over the barrier.
Fire, police, ambulance, coastguard teams as well as the Broughty Ferry lifeboat crew were alerted by bridge staff,
Staff were concerned the 23-year-old, who was from Kirkcaldy, was about to jump and closed the bridge and went to her aid.
According to Police Scotland the bridge staff were able to talk her to safety before handing her over to a waiting ambulance.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “There was concern for the woman who was spotted on the outside edge of the road bridge at 8.20pm.
“She had climbed over the railing and bridge staff were concerned she was going to jump.
“Emergency services were alerted but bridge staff managed to get her to safety before the emergency crews arrived.
