Dundee’s first brewing operation in more than 30 years is set to expand its facilities after a planning application was approved by the city council.
71 Brewing, based in Bellfield Street, had applied to the local authority to build three additional tanks outside its main building.
Detailed diagrams included with the application, submitted by local architect Jon Frullani, showed that each of the three 1,092kg tanks could hold almost 8,000 litres of beer. The application was approved by Dundee City Council’s planning division without attaching any additional conditions.
Planning officers said the installation of the three tanks fitted in well with the area’s local development plan.
A handling report concluded: “There are no material considerations of sufficient weight that would justify refusal of the application.”
