Dundee descended into darkness this morning as a thunderstorm made its way over the area.
The sky turned black just after 9am as the storms neared.
An online tracker showed where lightning hit, though Dundee missed the worst of the drama.
The Met Office had put a yellow “be aware” weather warning in place across the whole of Scotland.
After a fairly bright star, cloud quickly covered the sky around 9.15am and the skies went eerily dark.
The heavy rain led to flooding in parts of Dundee. Large pools of water gathered in Riverside Drive as traffic made its way through.
Due to the weather, several roads around the city were forced to close, including Hospital Street, Kinghorne Road and Dens Road.
Buses were diverted around the affected areas.
A 30mph limit was in place at the Tay Bridge and it was closed to double-decker buses while the worst of the storm was under way.
Normal service resumed at around 11am.
