Scott Fraser’s weekend match-winning display has sparked attention from down south with Wigan Athletic renewing their interest in the 22-year-old.
Fraser netted both goals in the 2-1 victory over Dunfermline on Saturday and, with his contract set to expire in the summer, will draw interest from elsewhere if he keeps up that impressive form.
League One Wigan were linked with a move for the playmaker this time last year along with Charlton and Peterborough and have kept a keen eye on the Dundonian.
For United boss Csaba Laszlo, however, that’s a good thing because it means the Tangerines are doing things correctly.
He said: “I am happy about it. You know why?
“Because if Scott Fraser is playing bad games or is just on the bench he wouldn’t be linked with higher rated teams.
“It means for me that Dundee United and Scott Fraser are in the right way to move forward.
“If you stay in the middle of the table and Scott Fraser is just struggling then nobody asks about Scott Fraser.
“That means at the moment everything is OK and we are doing a good job and Scott is doing a good job.
“He is also a part of the team and the team helps him a lot, he helps us also.
“I was angry about him, honestly — if you score four goals maybe you have the interest from the Premier League and not the Championship!
“That’s just a joke but I am relaxed about it.”
