A group of Dundee trade unionists are appealing for food and other donations this Christmas.
Members of the Dundee branch of the public and commercial services union PCS are collecting for the Dundee Women’s Aid shoebox appeal and the Trussell Trust foodbank.
A spokesman for the union said it was looking for items including slippers, socks, hairbrushes, shower gel and bubble bath for the shoebox appeal.
He added: “The foodbank is desperately in need of items like tinned fruit, meat and puddings, jars of pasta sauce and UHT milk, coffee and toiletries.
“Members of this branch have consistently supported the local foodbank for a number of years with donations.
“The AGM agreed that given the reported increase in foodbank usage over recent months, and the festive season, an extra effort is warranted.”
