Dundee and Tayside has woke up under a thick blanket of snow after a heavy flurry through the night.
The area remains under a Met Office weather warning for snow and ice – although the latter may prove to be more of a hazard as we go through the morning.
The weather alert is in place for 3am today.
Heavy snow fell in the wee hours with inches of the white stuff lying on cars and residential streets.
The city’s main roads and thoroughfares are all but clear with council gritters working hard to keep commuters moving.
Xplore Dundee has already moved to reassure commuters that it’s services are running although there is “potential for delays”.
❄ Passenger update: all services are running today, but please be aware of the potential for delays as we enter the morning peak (given the weather will contribute to slower driving speeds, and more vehicles on the road).

The snow already appears to be thawing out, although the Met Office forecasts temperatures will not exceed 3C.
