Police have launched Operation Respectful, encouraging people in Dundee to be safety conscious in the run-up to Christmas.
Officers will be working alongside HM Revenue & Customs, Trading and Licensing Standards and the Home Office immigration team in the coming weeks.
Police Sergeant Ryan MacDonald, who is organising the operation, said: “We will be visiting licensed premises, including off sales, pubs and clubs and reminding them of their responsibilities.
“We will also be speaking with members of the public and encouraging them to look after their friends and family as they celebrate the festivities.”
The project started today, with inspections of local taxis taking place.
Sergeant MacDonald added: “We want everyone to enjoy themselves at this time of year, but keep in mind your own safety and the safety of others.”
