One of Dundee’s newest restaurants is applying for an outdoor seating area to create a “vibrant” cafe culture in the city centre.
Brassica, which opened on Shore Terrace in June, is seeking permission to accommodate 32 outdoor covers.
Recommending approval, Dundee City Council’s director of city development Mike Galloway said the plan “will create an active street frontage promoting street dining and a vibrant cafe culture in the city centre”.
One letter of objection was received from the City Centre and Harbour Community Council on the grounds that the double tables will cause excessive blockage of the pavement.
The planning committee will consider the application on Monday.
