Nicola Sturgeon invited a group of young carers to a Christmas party at Bute House, followed by a dress rehearsal performance of Wendy and Peter Pan.
Six young carers and two workers from Dundee Carers Centre took the train to Edinburgh to meet the first minister and enjoy a pre-theatre reception at Bute House before heading to the panto at the Lyceum Theatre.
Speaking before the party, youth worker Katriona Kelly said: “Young carers are very excited to be taking part in this opportunity.
“For many of our young carers this is an opportunity that they wouldn’t normally get due to their caring role.
“This will be a fantastic experience for them.
“They can’t wait to come back and tell family and friends about it.”
