Having cerebral palsy hasn’t stopped 16-year-old Viktoria Mucha from excelling at athletics.
The Blairgowrie High pupil takes part in “race running”, meaning she competes with the aid of a frame.
During her three seasons with Perth-based Strathtay Harriers, she has won many medals at regional and national championships, with several golds among them.
Viktoria not only trains with the Strathtay coaches at the George Duncan Arena in Perth, but also at home under the watchful eyes of her parents, Tomas and Aneta.
Jim Hunter, president of Strathtay Harriers, said: “Viktoria is an inspiration to other athletes and is part of our race running group.
“She posts good times in competition and in training, and is competing at 60, 100 and 200 metres. The plan is for her to go up to 400 metres.”
