The Teenage Cancer Trust is set to benefit by nearly £6,000 thanks to the efforts of a Perth High School teacher, 15 of his colleagues and 85 of the school’s pupils.
Chemistry teacher Dr Stephen Jones is running the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday.
His initial goal was to raise £100 for every mile of the run — £2,600 — but he is now on target to collect about £3,000.
The other staff members and the pupils are aiming to raise a further £2,600 at the Perth Park Run on April 28.
Stephen, who previously worked for the trust, said: “This a fine gesture by staff and pupils. And Kenny Mackay dental practice in Perth has given us Teenage Cancer Trust T-shirts to wear.”
