A Police Scotland Youth Volunteer (PSYV) has raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research.
Rhys O’Rourke, 17, collected the money in memory of his mum.
He decided to shave off his hair and set himself a target of £400 — which he smashed, raising a total of £1,158 for the charity.
Rhys has been a member of the PSYV since 2015 and has just achieved his Saltire Award for 200 hours of volunteering with the group.
Sammy Keith, community development officer for the volunteers, said: “I am incredibly proud of what Rhys has achieved for Cancer Research UK, as £1,158 is a huge amount of money to raise for such a great cause.
“One of the aims of Year of Young People 2018 is to inspire Scotland through its young people — and Rhys has certainly helped to achieve this.”
