One hundred pupils and staff from Perth High School took part in the Perth Park Run to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Teacher Dr Stephen Jones formerly worked for the trust and he also ran in the London marathon, raising £3,000 for this very worthy cause.
The Perth High contingent were resplendent in their Teenage Cancer Trust T-shirts as they raced round the North Inch.
Dr Jones’ initial goal was to raise £100 for every mile of this London marathon run but he is now on target to collect about £3,000.
The other staff members and pupils raised a further £2,600 through their efforts.
Dr Jones added: “This a fine gesture by staff and pupils. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity that works specifically with teenagers and young adults diagnosed with cancer.
“Having worked with the charity, I had no doubt who I was going to be fundraising for.”
