Almost 3,000 big-hearted walkers stepped out in style for this year’s Dundee Kiltwalk.
The 25-mile Mighty Stride – one of three distances – started at the 18th hole at the Old Course in St Andrews, where philanthropist Sir Tom Hunter and Sky Sports presenter Jim White waved off the participants who were walking in aid of more than 350 charities.
Kiltwalk chief executive Paul Cooney said: “We were overwhelmed by the turnout, with walker numbers increasing by a third on last year.
“With the Hunter Foundation’s 40% top-up, that means so many more great causes in this area will benefit from the blood, sweat and tears of our walkers. It was a special day and the stories of each and every one of our heroes is what will live long in the memory.”
