Pupils at Morgan Academy’s interact club have raised hundreds of pounds for an Alzheimer’s charity in memory of one of its members’ grandfathers.
Alzheimer Scotland was handed a cheque by the group after they held a “wear something purple day”, which raised more than £600. The club met volunteer co-ordinator for Alzheimer Scotland Jeni Sinclair to hand over the money.
Pupil Kirsten McDougall suggested raising money for the cause following the death in 2017 of her grandfather, who had the disease.
She said: “We are all so glad that we could raise awareness of such an important cause.
“We are excited to continue our involvement throughout the year and hopefully raise some more money.”
