A police officer from Angus has raised almost £1,000 for a family bereavement charity after completing a gruelling ultra marathon.
Sergeant Linsey Burnett, of the Arbroath community investigation unit, took part in a 53-mile trek along the first section of the West Highland Way in aid of The Moira Fund.
The charity was set up in memory of Moira Jones, who was murdered in Glasgow in 2008.
The fund aims to provide support to those affected by murder, culpable homicide and other similar bereavements.
Moira was a member of Linsey’s extended family, so it was a very personal cause for her.
Linsey completed the distance in an amazing 12 hours 35 minutes.
In her own words, it was “brutal but beautiful”.
Not only that, but she managed to raise more than £900 for the charity.
